That’s a really good point. Sliding scale payment maybe (with no cap on income - if you make a million bucks a year and are always speeding, you’re going to be paying a hefty fine)

I feel like the better option is to have local government foot the bill - but the driver owes the value of the device if it’s lost or damaged. In theory, insurance would have to cover at least some of this (given it’d be wired into the car) and they can still use their car. AND if they drive safely, they should owe nothing long-term.
That’s idealistic though. I’m sure the “tough on crime” crowd would want the individual to foot the bill despite it making everyone safer.

And speed is highly correlated to the lethality of car wrecks. Also, it sounds like the devices would be installed in the cars of people who… speed frequently.
So, it is directly addressing the problem without asset seizure or jail time. Sounds like an ideal solution, actually.

404 Media contacted the DOJ because there was unredacted, uncensored CSAM in the files. They had taken them down to remove it, afaik. Additionally, yeah there was uncensored information about many victims, many of whom had not come forward and probably did not wish to be doxxed.
Get wrecked, bozo 🤡
He had a weird habit of being overly touchy with people of all ages and seeming to sniff their hair. It was a longstanding pattern of behavior: but, one that was apparently harmless. Afaik there were never any actual complaints or accusations of anything untoward. Edit: there’s at least 1 allegation of assault, but not related to the hair sniffing.
Its the heat, mostly. If you use the low or very low/delicate settings, it will help.
I find that there is no benefit from using medium or high heat. It just shrinks my clothes. Low/delicate doesn’t and I haven’t noticed any damage.
Other trick: wash and dry pants inside out to avoid fading. Also, this stuff only applies to fabrics that are dryer safe, obviously

+1 for smart launcher. I got it back when the paid version was like 5 bucks. It’s more now, but I’ve been very happy with it overall.
Lawnchair also looks great. I’d consider switching if Smart Launcher becomes enshittified or if Lawnchair has better features.
I apply both of these to all movies in tandem. A movie can be both “enjoyable to watch” and “having artistic merit” to varying degrees.
I really dislike when critics and audiences are unable to separate them. There are real, professional critics who seem to only judge movies by how much they enjoyed them, and I think that’s fucked because they laud a lot of “bad” movies. Then there’s others who seem to care exclusively about the perceived level of artistry - and usually they only like movies with a narrow range of themes and tones.

Both apparently Hispanic and from South Texas. Makes you wonder if their names got leaked to throw them under the bus.
While that’s possible, I don’t think it is the most likely. There are so many Hispanic/Latino far-right/white-nationalist/neo-nazi types. They see themselves as either white or “one of the good ones” and are super racist toward other PoC.
This type that I’m referring to is big into the bootstraps mentality/hustle culture, probably voted for Trump (twice), and agrees with both the social & economic agenda of the Republican party on the whole if not every specific thing. They don’t think that they or their family would be targeted because they did everything “right”, “worked hard”, and are willing to brutalize and demean their fellow Latinos to prove it.
It’s way more common than you’d hope. Other minority groups exhibit this, too - I have a black in-law like this, I know hispanic folks like this. It’s sad, and fucked up, but it’s the same sort of fascist mentality that a lot of people are prone to. You just tend to expect it from the dominant ethnic group and not from marginalized groups.

Lots of these creeps could do that. The thing is they won’t to “protect their legacy” when, ironically, speaking out, admitting their own crimes, apologizing to their victims & taking full legal and personal accountability, and taking the other bastards down would be the best thing they could do to leave something of a positive legacy and begin to atone.
Idk. I think people get legitimate prescriptions and sell pills, mostly. If it’s not buying from someone you know who sourced them that way, idk how you’d verify it’s what they say it is.
I’m not saying that it’s true, it’d just be extremely funny.
Yeah, I know some Gen Z college kids, and I will attest they definitely spend significant money on alcohol. And cigarettes.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the vice money is just split between alcohol, cigarettes, weed, vape carts, and adderall. So, just diluted.
What if Chomsky was the only one ACTUALLY associated with Epstein for tax advice. He was too autistic to get the whole wink wink nudge nudge routine and was just like “Jeff I have a real nightmare of a tax situation I need help with, but I don’t see why I’d need to take a trip to the Bahamas: can I just email my documents to you?”

What it was: PDF of an email exchange between a Special Agent from the Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force and someone from the FBI NY Violent Crimes Division with numerous reports of women accusing Donald Trump, Ivanka and Eric Trump, Epstein, Musk, Dershowitz, Bill & Hillary Clinton, Members of the British Royal Family, Jamie Foxx and others of sexual assault/being present at events where they were assaulted when they (the victims) were minors.

Weird plot for the Braveheart reboot
I am genuinely curious why people are so angry and are jumping to conclusions, willing to boycott a company that has done great things for media preservation over an inconvlusive statement about something that will likely have minimal or no effect on them, GOGs employees, or the user experience of their platform.
AI assistance is a tool. Why would they ban their developers and maintainers from using Windsurf, for instance? Or their design folks from using AI tools to help make mockups? It doesn’t make any sense. If their workforce wants to make use of AI tools responsibly… why is that a problem?
AI use does not mean they will start churning out slop. And, frankly, GOG is a software distributor/vendor… they don’t have creative control over the games they sell. The AI would be in the behind the scenes development of their platform, not in the products. The only way it’d affect users is if they put it in the user interface somehow (but… how and why would they?)
