Not a real believer in the paranormal but just had something pretty freaky happen to me almost exactly an hour ago. I’m in Okinawa on camp Schwab and was standing gate guard for my platoon. At 0430 on the dot we hear a blood curdling scream that was abruptly cut short. Being a corpsman and on post our first thought was a “jumper” from one of the near barracks. Just got back from the patrol we lead to check out if we could find a body and we didn’t find anything. What’s even weirder to me is that the five of us on duty at the gate all heard it and when questioning the duty’s at the surrounding barracks no one else heard it but us 5. I know people probably think it was just some person screaming being rowdy, but I’ve been in 5 years and the rest of us have 30 years combined military experience and have never heard a scream like that. My questions for the community are: does 0430 have any significance in the paranormal community given it happened exactly on the dot, anyone have an experience like this (I.e. is this a common phenomenon), and is there any Japanese or Okinawa folk lore regarding this.
