In my (limited) research it seems very vague as how they were treated at the different stages of imprisonment, except for Louis at the end was beaten severely. His sister seems to have faired much better, except some hints of physical assaults that could have ended in pregnancy that she tried to hide once released. What is the thought at each stage of their imprisonment?
