Hi all, been looking for a good local spot for kayak camping lately. Obviously flow rates and weather don’t permit well for this now, but come Fall I’ll be heading out.
Does anyone here have any experience doing this on the Trinity? I’ve looked on maps in sections north of Denton and just South of 380, but the river bank doesn’t look too suitable for an overnight stay.
If anyone knows of other good locations, I’d love to hear about them. I have a trip planned for Broken Bow Lake in Oklahoma, Lake Ouachita in Arkansas, and then the section of the Brazos coming off of Possum Kingdom, but those are all multi-day trips. I’d really like something I can do locally, preferably 8-20 miles of paddling split between two days, one night.
