Sims 4 was my “cozy” go-to for years. But since about 6 months I just can’t be bothered with it anymore.
I am looking for something that is NOT short and narrative driven and preferably can be replayed several times without being exactly the same. Also, and I know someone will want to argue about definitions here, but I can’t stand JRPGs or “typical Asian style art” (aka Rune Factory games but also Grow: Song of The Evertree; ).
Seriously, I have never been able to finish a JRPG, ever. And I am 50. The characters always annoy me. I also get severe allergic reactions to multiplayer, and even more so in-game purchases.
Oh and I hate horror. I had Dredge on my wish list until I found out about the story.
Games I have bought on the steam sale already: Garden In, 2 point Campus.
Games I have looked closer at:
- Dinkum (I don’t like the Wii Mote graphics but since it’s developed by a single person I’ll let slide.
- Coral Island (definitely looks like it will lack replayability but I am a sucker for Pacific Island themed stuff)
- Palia (against my better judgement, but got turned off as soon as I found out they are planning to charge like thirty American dollars for a three-pack of outfits. It’s not even offensive, it’s should be criminal. Plus the fact that statistically everyone will lose everything when the servers shut down in 2-3 years because they don’t make enough profit).
- Sail Forth
