[Solved]

I added to the file in /etc/profile the line

export STEAM_FORCE_DESKTOPUI_SCALING=2.0

This sets the Steam UI scaling to 200%. For 175% just use 1.75 :)

Another way is to start steam via terminal and add the parameter -forcedesktopscaling 2.0, this also works.
