Hopefully you didn’t buy it from Ea Nasir.
Hmm. The seller did treat my messenger with contempt.
That is a brilliant pen! Absolute beauty!
How much
Around 400 EUR.
Holy fucking shit
I would have guessed more. It’s a fantastic looking pen.
For a pen…
A tube that holds ink.
An item which we’ve known how to make for centuries and which is mass produced.
At minimum wage in Germany that’s 29 hours of work, for a pen. Granted a pretty pen, but still just a pen.
Y’all are crazy.
Do you not have any hobbies that you might want to spend a bit more on if you could? Maybe as a reward for surviving something particularly grueling? That’s what it is for me, and for you to call me crazy as a result would be pretty insulting if it wasn’t coming from some random on the internet.
Niche hobby people are just weird like that. Ever seen the Coffee community?
Not something many people like us can afford but there are cases where it’s justified. But by that logic you’d never spend any money for something enjoyable. Why eat anything other than the cheapest stuff that provides complete nutrition, it’s just food. Why not just wear clothing people throw away, it’s just to keep you warm. Why have anything nice in your apartment, it’s just a place to eat, sleep and shit.
Spending money on enjoyable things is really not that strange. As long as you’re not spending beyond your means, what’s the harm?
Don’t let Ken Paxton near it!
The best nibs are on 3776s. What nib size?
Medium. I tend to prefer medium on Platinums, where I would choose fine with Pilots.
Is it actually copper?
No, that’s just the name of the ink.
Ohhh that’s nice too.
It’s a popular ink, IIRC from Goulet Pen’s list-by-popularity.
goes to look
https://www.gouletpens.com/collections/all-ink
Yeah, on the first page, #8 best-selling, and #1 is “send me a random ink sample”, so I’m not sure that that should count; probably should be #7.
I think I have some sitting around myself, but haven’t gotten around to trying it.
https://mountainofink.com/blog/diamine-ancient-copper
EDIT: Actually, that’s probably not the best ranking to use, since that includes sample vials, and most people getting sample vials are probably just trying it, not necessarily set on using a bunch of it.
But on the list of bottled ink sales, it’s #18, which is still pretty high:
That’s a cool list, thanks. I actually have three of my favorites side by side there. Red Dragon, Oxblood and Ancient Copper. I’m a certified Diamine addict.
Diamine’s among my favorites, too. I love Ancient Copper, but Oxblood is þe GOAT.
