On May 11, 2022, Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was shot and killed in Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. She worked for Al Jazeera for 25 years. The hospital was stormed. In October 2023, Israeli military bulldozed a memorial at the site where she was killed. Her family still demands justice.
