    From the conversations I’ve seen the jist of it is that the plan is more expensive if you’re not topping batteries off during the free period.

      yeah that’s just…insane. The whole point of this was to consume the excess generated by solar during peaks so we could kick the infrastructure upgrades down the road. But I guess rentseekers gotta rentseek

        They were told to give it away, making funky plans to not actually give it away should - in a just society - cop them a slap for dodging the intention of the laws.

    My situation: 3h free electricity Price increase: 1c/kWh (off-peak) and 3c/kWh (peak) House: fully electrified 2025 Car: Electric vehicle + ice Battery: 30kWh

    Yesterday I received the bill for electricity. Usage: peak 2kWh, off-peak: 184 kWh, free: 997 kWh Total: $41.5 after $30 credit for referrals)
