    I once read someone blaming directors/producers mixing movies with theaters or full-on perfectly-tuned surround setups in mind instead of the 2.0 TV speakers and earbuds most people actually use, and I don’t know how true it actually is but it sure makes intuitive sense.

    Then again, I still have to wear my ANC earbuds in the theater without them playing anything because the score and sound effects are so loud.

      I have a perfectly tuned surround setup and they still sound shit. So many sound directors just suck at their jobs nowadays.

      Quite true in my experience. A 5.1 or 7.1 surround system with a good center speaker will make most issues go away.
      Even just 3 speakers in front of you with a center one that is usually for voice should fix it (like some soundbars).
