Shrinking Ray/Rae (Invincible) - male in the comics, female in the show. Extra points for unlocking unique scenes and a romance with Rex Splode. Lois Lane (My Adventures with Superman) - typically white in most media, Korean in MAwS. (You could also argue she’s ginger in the Snyderverse, as opposed to her typically raven-black hair.) Nick Fury (Marvel, MCU) - initially white in the comics, which changed in the Ultimate Marvel Universe. Now, most people see him as Samuel L. Jackson.

The Battlestar Galactica reboot has a couple really great examples. Starbuck is still a cocky, horny flyboy, but with a ton of juicy bad habits and emotional baggage to unpack, overall a much more compelling character imo. And Colonel Tigh is the holotype specimen for The Mediocre White Guy, a whiny pissant with a major drinking problem and a codependent relationship who’s super unqualified for his position as XO, and is only there bc of cronyism.
