Oh that brings back a memory I had damn near repressed. I had a printer/scanner combination (Canon in this case) and I was coming up on a deadline to scan a butt load of important documents.
That’s the exact moment the printhead on the printer part of the printer/scanner decided to crap out.
Well thankfully I didn’t need that part to work if I just needed to use the scanner, right? Wrong.

Went from win11 to Bazzite a little while ago and the experience has been pure bliss. I even set up a printer and I swear to God it only took 2 tries and it worked. That never would have gone so smoothly on Windows.
But the best of all? No more OneDrive!
Don’t forget they also have bolt cutters for a face.
There’s a zoo near me that started out as a rescue park for abandoned parrots. One enclosure had all the potty-mouthed parrots in it and they hung up a sign saying
“If the parrots shout insults, they’re (usually) not directed at you personally”
That always made me laugh.
Also don’t buy parrots as pets. They’re notoriously difficult to keep and most people get in way over their heads while the parrots live a miserable and depressed (and very long!) life.

Agreed on the parrots but a lot of corvids I’ve encountered were absolute trolls as well. Very intentional and calculating, they clearly had fun antagonizing other animals. Don’t get me wrong, they’re assholes. But they’re funny assholes.
Maybe European corvids aren’t like Australian ones. I’ve heard stories about your magpies.

Recently I had a guy deliver a new appliance. The hallway still reeked of his cologne two hours after he left, when he hadn’t been in my house for more than 5 minutes. I didn’t even think that was possible.
Someone made a VR representation of this cave recently, based on official surveys and descriptions of people who were familiar with the cave.
One of those people was Brandon Kowallis, a member of the rescue team, who was also the last person to have seen Jones alive.
There are YouTube videos of people playing this “game” (including Kowallis himself) and even those videos are enough to give me a panic attack. It’s absolutely insane to me that people will voluntarily subject themselves to these types of environments.
I have a personal vendetta against OneDrive because it literally holds your files hostage. It uploads your data without your consent and then threatens to cut off access to your own files unless you pay up. It actively fights you when you try to regain control, up to and including reinstalling itself once you finally manage to uninstall it.
It’s the main reason I finally got serious about switching to Linux (which I have and it has been amazing)
I’m still mad though, fuck Microsoft. Evil assholes.

Until you then find out that the Netherlands is actually called “Nederland” in the Netherlands. And the reason they’d called “Dutch” in America is due to an archaic mix-up between the two nationalities.

Imagine if your kids came to you and told you they were depressed (if you don’t have kids, imagine you do and you love them very much).
Then imagine that -of all the things you could possibly say to them- you chose to tell them what your mother told you.
How would you feel about yourself as a parent (or even as a human being) if you did that? Essentially calling your own children worthless for being sick?
It’s ok to feel that same way about your mother.
It’s like people saying their facebook got hacked when in reality, they logged in on a public computer and didn’t log out. Or their password is their kid’s name or some shit.
