Spreading production out in time probably let them get more done in house and get a more consistent and higher quality output too.
I saw this happen with Hyakushou Kizoku / Noble Farmer, it was officially 3 seasons made separately, but it numbered the episodes consecutively and even included episodes not broadcast on TV within its numbering. So thetvdb labels the first episode of the second season is S02E01, while tmdb thinks that it is S01E13, but it is episode number 15 according to its in-show title.
In the end, what is called a season is just quite arbitrary and up to the rights holders.
My feeling is a budget / production commitee / crew is put together for each season, and even if cours were split they were planned and announced together, but this is not always true either. Two or more seasons can be planned and announced at the same time, in some cases seasons aligns with major story arcs and there can be a production time gap in the middle of an arc.
I imagine people designing database for these stuff pulling their hairs out trying to get it right, only to have some wacky show break their assumption…… again.
Frieren ep.1 to 4 were 4 episodes but were premiered on TV as a quadruple feature at around 2 hours minus advertisement time.
The TV Edition of the two compilation movies just finished airing in Japan, it was 11 episodes long and contain some updated visuals, could be an option for rewatch as well.
If you look at the BD/DVD release schedule, they have 7 releases planned, each of the same price, releasing 1 per month with no interruptions, the 1st one is known to contain 3 episodes, so the series is most probably longer than 13 episodes and will not be split cours.

The person who came late to the signing was Oikawa Kanon, a character from The Moon on a Rainy Night, another of the author’s manga. Futami-sensei recognized she was hard of hearing and made big body gestures when talking to her.
For something this big, you’d think they would have a hard time cooking it thoroughly. Luckily, there was magic in Isekai. Mukohda’s fire magic was stronger than I thought (he had multiple blessings after all) but it did not impress Fel, who helped finished cooking it by flaming the fire with wind.
It seemed the Mukohda was well remembered, sadly or otherwise, mostly by the food he cooked.
How Arakawa-sensei was isekai’d, avoided being beheaded by her power of drawing, solved a countries’ food problem by recognizing potato flowers, escaped an overthrowing of monarchy, got a good night’s sleep and finished the 3rd season of the anime, all within the span of 4 minutes.
I was wondering who voiced the “voice of heaven” and checked the credits, and to my surprise it was the same VA who voiced Ishii-san the editor. She sounded quite different using a different tone. Noble-Arakawa also had a portrait of Ishii (or someone looking a lot like her) in her room.
Forgot to say it was amusing Amano-sensei was following Tōko-sensei and was in every scene of her date with Nashida.
Luckily the elves recognized Libelania and still respect her (him?), and this solved Brolite’s sister’s trouble that came with her marrying an outsider.
We saw that the white god was checking up on Takeru and was satisfied that he caused positive change in the world. We also got a small recap of Takeru’s experience and the anime ended with them arriving at the sea and enjoying seafood.
I follow the manga and while this anime is not a bad adaptation, if you like it check out the manga as well. It is pretty well drawn and contains more detail than the anime.
It was interesting Takizawa-sensei ‘reincarnated’ by changing her pen name and publisher and her fans didn’t find out. She was a really good master teaching Nashida how to deal with fear. I worry about her health though seeing her smoking so much.

It’s been a while since I’ve read the manga, I heard they adapted the pre-redraw story (a strange choice) instead of the final version in the published volumes, so things might be different depending on which version you remember.

Technically no, it has to specifically have Dual-Mode support (DP++). In practice most of them do, at least in the consumer space.
If it doesn’t then you need an active adapter.

There is also the Begger’s Chicken which uses clay in a similar manner to trap the moisture. (Obviously there would be no salty taste transferred to the food, I think)
According to JP wikipedia, its meaning is closer to a quarter (of a year). So for weekly anime 12 to 13 episodes per cour is correct, though there are both shorter and longer exceptions. For something like NHK’s daily drama I believe they still call a show 2 cour even though it has 150+ episodes.
